This homemade strawberry milkshake recipe is the ideal summer dessert for its simplicity. Made with fresh berries, ice cream, milk, and sugar, it is an irresistible dessert!
On a hot summer day, you can never go wrong with a refreshing homemade milkshake. Not only are they tasty, but they’re so simple to make that I’ve gone a bit wild lately! I’ve prepared everything from creamsicle milkshakes to Nutella milkshakes, but a traditional vanilla milkshake can never go wrong, right? My fave may be this OREO milkshake however… it is SERIOUSLY excellent!!!
HOW TO MAKE A STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE
One of my favorite aspects of creating strawberry shakes is how simple the recipe is. The best part is that you likely have what you need already! This dish has only four key components.
Step 1: Pour four scoops of vanilla ice cream (about two cups) into a blender. You can replace strawberry ice cream with a richer strawberry flavor.
Step 2: Add a half cup of milk. You may use any type of milk, including almond milk, however, we use whole milk.
Step 3: Add strawberries. (Just add two ripe bananas for a delectable strawberry banana milkshake.)
Step 4: Finally, add a little sugar. The strawberries do have some natural sweetness but you’ll want a little more.
Step 5: Blend until smooth and creamy.
Step 6: Pour into a tall glass. If you want smaller servings, pour them into two separate glasses.
Step 7: Add whipped cream to the top of the strawberry milkshakes to make them even more delicious. Use homemade heavy cream or add store-bought… Either will enhance the creamy deliciousness of this fantastic dessert.
CAN YOU MAKE A STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE WITH FROZEN STRAWBERRIES
Yes! If you do not have fresh strawberries or it is not strawberry season, frozen strawberries will suffice. Because they may contain slightly more water, you may need to add a bit more ice cream to achieve a thick milkshake.
HOW TO MAKE A THICKER MILKSHAKE
If you desire a thicker strawberry shake, simply add less milk or more ice cream. If you wish to expand the serving size, you should add extra ice cream to the milkshake. This is an excellent alternative when sharing the shake.
HOW TO MAKE A MILKSHAKE WITHOUT A BLENDER
Although a blender makes things easier, it is not necessary to produce a tasty milkshake. This YouTube video provides a comprehensive guide on how to prepare a milkshake without a blender. As long as you have a quality insulated cup, you’re good to go! I will definitely use this method as a backup if I ever find myself without a blender.
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- Whipped cream and a strawberry for garnish
- Combine ice cream, milk, strawberries, and sugar in a blender.
- Blend on high or pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and a cherry.
